PGA of Canada Professionals

Alan Howie – General Manager

Alan was born in Windsor, Ontario and raised in Moncton , NB. He was the Head Professional at Fredericton Golf Club from 2004 to 2014, having previously served in that capacity at Mactaquac Provincial Park Golf Course for 17 years.

A member of the PGA of Canada for thirty four years, Alan has been a staff member of TaylorMade for twenty six years and currently sits on the Presidential Advisory Board for TaylorMade/Adidas . Alan is a certified club fitter with TaylorMade, Titleist, Cobra and Ping.

Chris Corman – Head Professional

A Nova Scotian, Chris was born in Halifax and raised in Fall River.  He has worked in various roles at different golf clubs all over Canada for the past 20 years.  He completed the Professional Golf Management Program at Camosun College in Victoria, BC.

Chris obtained his PGA of Canada Class A status in the fall of 2008. He has been the Head Golf Professional at the Fredericton Golf Club since 2015, and previously held the same position at the Brightwood Golf & Country Club in Dartmouth, NS from 2010-2012.

Brett Wilson – Assistant Professional

Born and raised in Sussex, New Brunswick, Brett is entering his 8th consecutive year working in the golf industry.  Graduating from Sussex Regional High School in 2012, Brett then went on to complete the Golf Club Management and Professional Golf Management programs at Holland College.  He graduated from both programs in 2015 with honors, and was named CCAA Academic and Athletic All-Canadian all 3 years.

Brett joined the PGA of Canada in the spring of 2015 before starting his first season as an Assistant Professional at the Fredericton Golf Club.  Some of Brett’s Accomplishments include winning a Gold Medal at the 2014 CCAA Nationals for Holland College, he also won the PGA Atlantic Assistants Championship and the PGA Atlantic Players Championship in 2015 shortly after turning pro.  He was also fortunate enough to be named Player Of The Year in 2015 for the PGA of Canada Atlantic Zone.

 Justin Shanks – Assistant Professional

Justin Shanks was born in Saint John, New Brunswick and raised in Sussex. Justin graduated Sussex Regional High School in 2012 and then moved on to Holland College in Charlottetown to attend the Golf Club Management Program. While attending Holland College, Shanks managed to represent the Hurricanes at a national level, standing out on the course and also in the classroom, receiving CCAA Academic All-Canadian all three years.

Prior to joining the PGA of Canada in April of 2015, Shanks was crowned as the 2014 New Brunswick Amateur Champion, as well as member of the Holland College Hurricanes 2014 CCAA National Gold Medal Team, in Quebec. Justin has competed all across Canada in several golf events, including seven nationally from 2011-2014. Justin worked at the Sussex Golf and Curling for a number of years before taking his first position here at Fredericton as a member of the PGA of Canada.
