Mens’ activities are open to full playing, associate and intermediate male members. Club competitions include Opening & Closing Field Days; the Fred Hancock Club Championship; the Fred Dobbs Cup; the Handicap Championship;  the Senior Club Championship; and the members’ best ball tournament. In addition, the club hosts the Senior Invitational in June; the 36-hole Moose Lite Invitational Tournament in July, and the Mixed Invitational in September.

Men’s Senior Swingers includes full and associate male members aged 55 and over who golf every Thursday morning. Tee times are between 8:30 and 9:30 am. There is an opening and closing scramble plus a game with the Senior Ladies each year. As well, there are three team matches in the Ryder Cup format with all monies raised donated to the Golf for the Cure. Cost for each week is $2. During the regular season visiting golfers from Westfield, Sussex and Gagetown are invited to participate in inter-club tournaments. As well, the FGC  group visits each of those clubs . Cost is very reasonable and includes lunch and prizes. Sign up sheets are posted on Thursday morning for the following week. Everyone is welcome .

Wednesday Nite Men’s League (WNML) is open to full-playing and intermediate members and junior men with a handicap of 12 or less. The tee is reserved from 2 until 6 p.m., and players make-up their own foursomes.  See WNML page for further details.

2013 Events Information

The Fred Hancock Club Championship is named after a former Head Professional. A two-day 36-hole stroke play qualifying round determines the seeding for a two-tier match play Championship. Sixteen players qualify in each of the A & B divisions; handicaps are factored in the final seeding.

The Fred Dobbs Cup is a two-man team net best ball match play competition. Teams must have a combined handicap of 20 or higher with one member having a handicap of 13 or higher.

The Club Handicap Championship is a match play net score competition played throughout the season.

Sign up sheets for all events are posted early in the season; matches are played throughout the summer with the finals completed in late September.
